The wind blew so hard that day the feeder I had hanging on there was blow off and broken.
No small feat considering it was a very large feeder.

I put up another feeder once the weather settled.
I also put feed on the snow for the larger birds. :D

Hopefully the birds can find food by now without your assistance. It's time for spring, isn't it :D

Remember those days well. That's why we got out of Dodge. :-) Watching CNN, and Tom Skilling on WGN. (He used to be the weather guy on Witi TV channel 6 in Milwaukee) Chicago had 20.2 inches of snow. Stay warm.

But I must say it was beautiful. I was up every couple of hours to check the furnace and stuff, and watch the snow. Couldn't see the homes across the street. Just a winter wonderland!!

Pretty much the same here.
Winter wonderland my ass!!
We had 50+ mph winds. It sounded like sleet hitting the windows.
Our house is open to the northeast which is where all the bad storms come in from.
Morgan our older dog must have a huge bladder because she refused to go outside.
Jesse on the other hand didn't care.
I had to pick up a sparrow off the ground that was freezing up and put him in a box
for the night till the weather let up to keep him alive. He flew away happily this morning.

I couldn't just stand there and watch him prepare to die, which he was.
We are all God's creatures and if I could save one sparrow then I couldn't do nothing.
The next day when I released him he flew away with a full belly and I'm sure very happy
to be out of that box. :)

I do that often. The birds tend to hit the window...and I either hold them or put them in a paper bag for awhile. Either way works. If they are dead, I bury them.

Just from knowing you and your love of all creatures that you would be a caregiver
to all. Your soft hearted like me.
